PASCO COUNTY, FL — The National Weather Service has confirmed two separate EF-0 tornadoes touched down across Pasco County, Florida on May 12, 2026, with the Hudson Tornado touching down first at 2:14 PM EDT and the Shady Hills Tornado following at 2:43 PM EDT, both producing estimated peak winds of 85 miles per hour while causing no fatalities or injuries across the affected communities.

Hudson Tornado Confirmed EF-0 With 1.19 Mile Track

The first confirmed tornado of the two-tornado event touched down at 2:14 PM EDT southwest of Hudson in Pasco County, tracking northeastward before lifting at 2:19 PM EDT east of Hudson after just five minutes on the ground. The Hudson Tornado carved a path length of 1.19 miles with a maximum width of 400 yards, producing estimated peak winds of 85 miles per hour throughout its brief but confirmed ground contact across the community.

The tornado’s track ran from coordinates 28.3493, -82.7068 at its start point to 28.3562, -82.6890 at its conclusion, placing the ground contact zone directly through the western Pasco County corridor near the Hudson community along the Gulf Coast.

Shady Hills Tornado Confirmed EF-0 With 0.69 Mile Track

The second confirmed tornado touched down at 2:43 PM EDT southeast of Aripeka and tracked northeastward toward Shady Hills before lifting at 2:48 PM EDT south-southwest of Spring Hill. The Shady Hills Tornado produced a path length of 0.69 miles with a maximum width of 250 yards and estimated peak winds also reaching 85 miles per hour during its five-minute ground contact across the Pasco County terrain.

The Shady Hills track ran from coordinates 28.4008, -82.6078 at initiation to 28.3948, -82.5991 at conclusion, positioning the tornado’s path through the Aripeka to Shady Hills corridor in the central portion of Pasco County.

Zero Fatalities and Zero Injuries Across Both Events

Despite two confirmed tornado touchdowns within the same county during a 34-minute window on May 12, 2026, both events resulted in zero fatalities and zero injuries across Pasco County.
