USC coach Travian Robertson injured in Dutch Fork Road crash; other driver killed
IRMO, S.C. — The South Carolina Highway Patrol has released new details about a fatal crash on Dutch Fork Road that injured University of South Carolina defensive line coach Travian Robertson and killed another driver.
Officials said the crash occurred Friday night when two vehicles collided near Irmo. Robertson was taken to the hospital, where he is recovering, while the other driver died at the scene.
Coach Recovering, Driver Killed
Robertson, who returned to USC in 2023 to coach the Gamecocks’ defensive line, was reportedly driving one of the vehicles involved in the wreck. Authorities have not released further information on his injuries but confirmed that he is expected to recover.
