Higher Storm Chances Expected in South Carolina Later This Week
GREENVILLE, S.C. — South Carolina residents will enjoy mostly sunny and quiet conditions to start the week, but meteorologists warn that storm chances are expected to increase by midweek.
Calm Start Before Storms
According to forecasts, the Upstate will remain mostly sunny with only isolated showers in the mountains for the next two days. Temperatures will reach the upper 70s to low 80s, with mild conditions continuing through Tuesday.
Midweek Cold Front Brings Storms
By Wednesday and Thursday, a cold front will push into the region, raising the likelihood of scattered showers and thunderstorms across South Carolina. Highs will climb into the low to mid-80s in the Upstate and the upper 70s in the mountains.
While no severe outbreaks are currently predicted, forecasters say residents should monitor updates as conditions evolve.
Weekend Outlook
After the front passes, high pressure will settle in, bringing drier air and slightly below-normal temperatures into the weekend. Highs will generally stay in the low to mid-80s, with the mountains remaining in the upper 70s to low 80s.
Watching the Tropics
Meteorologists are also monitoring a tropical wave in the far eastern Atlantic. While currently disorganized, conditions may allow for gradual development later this week or into the weekend, coinciding with the peak of Atlantic hurricane season on Sept. 10.
South Carolina residents should prepare for a wetter midweek while enjoying mild weather early in the week. Do you think these shifting weather patterns are becoming more unpredictable each year? Share your thoughts at SaludaStandard-Sentinel.com.
