Suspect in Atlanta Park Tavern Assault May Be University of South Carolina Student, Police Say
ATLANTA, GEORGIA — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in a violent assault at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park, saying he may be a student at the University of South Carolina.

The incident happened shortly after midnight on September 1, when officers responded to reports of a fight at the bar located at 500 10th Street NE.
Police say the suspect assaulted a 20-year-old man, leaving him unconscious before fleeing the scene. Investigators believe the altercation began as an argument between the two men before escalating into violence.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with significant head injuries.
Suspect Photo Released
On Thursday, the Atlanta Police Department (APD) released a photo of the suspect taken on the night of the incident. Authorities say the man may attend the University of South Carolina and could have been in Atlanta for the Aflac Kickoff football game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium earlier that day.
Reward Offered
A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to the suspect’s identification or arrest.
