Truck Crashes Into Tree, Rolls Into Wake County Deputy SUV
RALEIGH, N.C. — A late-night crash involving a work truck and a Wake County Sheriff’s deputy SUV ended without injuries, according to police.

The incident happened around 2 a.m. Wednesday when a deputy was following a truck along Wakefield Pines Drive near Falls of Neuse Road.
Police said the truck lost control, struck a tree in a driveway, and then rolled backward into the deputy’s cruiser. Fortunately, no one was injured in the collision.

The truck, which carried USIC utility contractor branding, sustained visible damage. The WRAL Breaking News Tracker captured video showing shattered glass on the driveway, with the truck appearing to touch the deputy’s SUV.
It remains unclear whether the deputy’s vehicle was significantly damaged.
Investigation Ongoing
Raleigh police have not released details about why the deputy was following the truck at the time of the crash. The Wake County Sheriff’s Office has not yet confirmed if any charges will be filed in connection with the incident.
