Driver Killed in Overnight York County Crash, Troopers Say
YORK COUNTY, S.C. — A driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning after their truck struck a tree and caught fire east of Clover.
Crash Details
The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported the crash happened around 1:19 a.m. on Lincoln Road near Woodstream Road, approximately one mile east of Clover.
According to troopers, a Ford F-150 was traveling south when it veered off the right side of the road, then crossed back over before leaving the left side and colliding with a tree. The truck became fully engulfed in flames.
Victim Identified
The driver, who was the only occupant of the truck, died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name, pending notification of family members.
Investigation Ongoing
Highway Patrol troopers are continuing to investigate the crash to determine what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
