Washington County Motorcyclist Airlifted After SUV Collision on SW Johnson School Road

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ore. — A motorcyclist was critically injured Wednesday morning after colliding head-on with an SUV in rural Washington County, forcing authorities to shut down a major roadway for several hours.

Crash on SW Johnson School Road

The crash occurred around 6:13 a.m. near the 33000 block of SW Johnson School Road, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators said 30-year-old Cristhian Carranza of Forest Grove was driving a 2012 Toyota Highlander eastbound when he allegedly attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone, striking an oncoming motorcycle head-on.

Victims Taken to Hospital

The motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted by Life Flight to a nearby hospital. Officials have not released the rider’s identity.

A passenger in the Highlander also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance for treatment.

Road Closure and Investigation

The Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART) responded to the scene, closing SW Johnson School Road between SW Tongue Lane and SW Riedweg Road. The road remained shut down for several hours while investigators gathered evidence.

Case Under Review

Deputies confirmed the crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time, but authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the collision to contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency dispatch, referencing case number 50-25-12320.
