Raleigh Police Officer Hurt in Crash While Responding to Car Break-In
RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA – A Raleigh police officer was injured early Saturday morning while responding to reports of car break-ins, according to the Raleigh Police Department.
Crash Happened on Thistlebrook Court
Authorities said the incident began around 3:35 a.m. on Thistlebrook Court, where an officer responded to a call about multiple vehicle break-ins.
When the officer arrived, they saw a suspect and a vehicle at the scene. Police say the suspect fled and, in the process, struck the officer’s police SUV.
Officer Taken to Hospital, Released
The officer suffered minor injuries in the crash. As a precaution, they were taken to WakeMed hospital and later released.
The suspect has not yet been taken into custody, and investigators are continuing to search for leads.
