Five Florida Men Arrested After Armed Home Invasion and Gunfire Inside Davenport Airbnb Rental

DAVENPORT, FLORIDA — Law enforcement officials say five men have been arrested following a chaotic armed home invasion and shootout inside a Davenport Airbnb earlier this month, leaving the property riddled with bullet holes and shattered glass.

According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened on November 5 at a rental home on Leader Street, where a group of armed men stormed into the house, stole belongings from guests, and exchanged gunfire with people inside.

Deputies say the chaos erupted after the intruders snatched a teenage girl’s phone and keys, sparking panic among other guests. Shots were fired as both the suspects and several occupants inside the home attempted to flee.

When deputies arrived, they discovered what investigators described as a firefight scene — with pistol and rifle casings scattered across the floors, bullet holes through walls, and a shattered sliding glass door blown out at the back of the home.

Violent Confrontation Ends in Multiple Arrests

Investigators quickly launched a multi-agency manhunt for those involved. That same night, deputies arrested Devante Joseph, 21, and Markel Bailey, 20, near the scene.

Over the following days, detectives — with assistance from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Highway Patrol — tracked down two additional suspects in Orange County: Alvan Civil, 22, and Jaiquan Hill, 20.

A fifth suspect, Ronnall Marayne, 20, was arrested on November 12, bringing the total number of arrests to five.

All five men are now facing serious felony charges, including armed home invasion, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, grand theft, and discharging a firearm inside a dwelling.

Investigators Say Victims Knew the Suspects

Detectives revealed that this was not a random attack — the people inside the Airbnb knew at least some of the suspects, which helped investigators piece together what happened.

“The victims had prior connections with the suspects,” the sheriff’s office said. “That relationship allowed detectives to identify and locate them more quickly.”

Deputies have not said what prompted the gunfight but confirmed that no deaths were reported despite the heavy exchange of gunfire.

Airbnb Scene Described as a ‘War Zone’

Neighbors told investigators they heard multiple rounds of gunfire and saw police swarming the area late that night. Deputies later described the rental home as a scene of “utter chaos.”

“The place looked like a war zone,” one official said. “There were shell casings everywhere, bullet holes in nearly every room, and property damage throughout.”

Ongoing Investigation

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office confirmed all suspects are now in custody, but the investigation remains active as officials review evidence and interview witnesses.

Authorities also thanked cooperating agencies for assisting with surveillance and intelligence tracking that led to the arrests.

“This was a reckless and violent act that endangered innocent lives,” said an Osceola County spokesperson. “We’re grateful no one was seriously hurt, and we’re confident justice will be served.”

Residents in the Davenport neighborhood said the incident has left them shaken. “It’s scary to think something like this could happen in a vacation rental just down the street,” one neighbor said.

The sheriff’s office urges anyone with additional information or surveillance footage related to the November 5 incident to contact their tip line as detectives continue piecing together the timeline of events.
