62-Year-Old Man Fatally Shot in Winston-Salem; Police Seek Leads in Ongoing Investigation
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A 62-year-old man was shot and killed Tuesday night in Winston-Salem, prompting a homicide investigation by local authorities.
Police Respond to Late-Night Shooting on Gregory Street
Winston-Salem police say the incident occurred just before 10 p.m. in the 300 block of Gregory Street. Officers responded to a report of a shooting and discovered Marco Antonio Salazar Cano, 62, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical personnel quickly transported Cano to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Investigation Underway, No Suspect Identified Yet
Authorities confirmed that the incident appears to be isolated, and they are actively investigating the case. As of Wednesday morning, no suspect information has been released to the public.
