Suspect Arrested in Tennessee After Raleigh Woman Reported Missing Under Ashanti Alert

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A man wanted in connection with the disappearance of a Raleigh woman listed under a statewide Ashanti Alert has been arrested in Hamilton County, Tennessee, authorities confirmed over the weekend.

According to WRAL News, the North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued an Ashanti Alert for 30-year-old Selma M. Rodas Vicente, who was last seen around 4:00 a.m. on Windy Hill Drive near Raleigh. Officials said she was believed to be traveling in a black 2013 Honda Pilot and was possibly in danger.

The Ashanti Alert system is used to notify the public about endangered adults between 18 and 64 who are missing under suspicious or concerning circumstances.

Suspect Arrested in Hamilton County

Authorities say deputies with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle and detained 27-year-old Ismael De Jesus Niz-Miguel, who was driving the Honda Pilot at the time. Vicente was reportedly found with him when the arrest took place.

Investigators have not released additional details about her condition or the circumstances surrounding her disappearance. The Raleigh Police Department and Tennessee authorities are continuing to coordinate as part of the investigation.
