Smash-and-Grab: Vehicle Rams into Lululemon Store in Downtown Greenville During Early-Morning
GREENVILLE, S.C. – A bold smash-and-grab burglary shook downtown Greenville early Tuesday morning after a vehicle was used to ram into the front of the Lululemon store on South Main Street.
Suspect Used Vehicle to Breach Storefront
The incident happened around 3:40 a.m. at 600 S. Main Street, Suite 100, according to the Greenville Police Department. Investigators say someone drove a vehicle—believed to be a truck—directly into the front of the Lululemon store, causing significant damage to the entrance before making their way inside.
Once inside, the suspect stole multiple items, although full details about what was taken have not been disclosed publicly by police.
No Arrests Yet; Police Say Investigation Is Ongoing
As of Tuesday afternoon, no suspects had been identified or arrested. The Greenville Police Department confirmed the case remains under active investigation.
A person who was at the scene helping secure the building told WYFF News 4 that the vehicle involved was a truck. After reviewing surveillance footage, he said the suspect appeared to be targeting the cash register, rather than taking clothing merchandise.
Downtown Residents Alarmed by Bold Tactics
The incident has raised concerns among residents and downtown business owners. Lululemon is located in a high-traffic pedestrian area, and the timing of the burglary—just before dawn—adds to concerns about safety and repeat offenses in the area.
Law enforcement has not yet confirmed whether other stores might have been targeted in similar fashion, but they are encouraging nearby businesses to check surveillance footage and secure entry points as a precaution.
Anyone with information about the burglary or the identity of the suspect is urged to contact the Greenville Police Department.
