One Person Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in Huntersville Mobile Home Fire

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — One person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a mobile home fire broke out overnight in Huntersville, according to local officials.

The fire started at a residence off Rocky Ford Club Road, where crews with the Huntersville Fire Department (HFD) arrived to find heavy flames engulfing the front porch.

Rescue Amid Challenging Conditions

Firefighters said that upon arrival, one resident was unaccounted for. Crews used a secondary entrance to reach the individual inside and carried them out of the burning home.

Medic confirmed the person was transported to a hospital with serious smoke inhalation injuries. Their current condition has not been updated.

HFD praised its firefighters for their response, noting the rescue was complicated by a limited-access driveway and lack of nearby hydrants.

Community and Department Response

In a statement, Huntersville Fire posted on social media that multiple crews worked together to perform the rescue and extinguish the flames.

Our Engine 3 & Engine 1 responded to a working fire with a person inside the home. E3 rescued the resident & E1 completed extinguishment,” the department said.

Cause Under Investigation

Authorities have not yet released details on what sparked the blaze. Fire officials said the cause remains under investigation.

The fire adds to growing concerns about fire safety in mobile home communities, which often face heightened risks due to structural vulnerabilities and limited access for emergency crews.
