Las Vegas Police Searching for Two Suspects After Improvised Explosive Device Found Outside Restaurant; Three Others Indicted in Connection

LAS VEGAS, NV — Authorities in Las Vegas are searching for two suspects after surveillance footage captured individuals placing an improvised explosive device (IED) outside a local restaurant, leading to a federal and state investigation. The incident, which was recorded on security video, shows two men dressed in black — one riding a scooter — arriving near the establishment before one of them allegedly set down the device near the entrance.

Surveillance Footage Shows Disturbing Moment Near Restaurant

According to law enforcement officials, the footage depicts the suspects arriving late in the evening, dressed in dark clothing, and approaching the restaurant’s entryway. Moments later, one of the individuals can be seen placing a small object identified by police as an improvised explosive device near the doorway before both quickly leave the area.

Police responded after restaurant employees reported seeing suspicious activity and noticing a strange item near the building. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) confirmed that the device was safely recovered and neutralized by the bomb squad before it could detonate.

Three Individuals Indicted; Two Remain on the Run

Investigators say that three people have already been indicted in connection with the case. However, two additional suspects — a man and a woman — remain at large after failing to appear in court. Officials confirmed that both suspects skipped bail and are currently being sought by local and federal law enforcement.

Police did not immediately release their names, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation, but described the pair as “dangerous and likely attempting to avoid capture.”

LVMPD officials urged anyone who may recognize the individuals seen in the video to contact authorities immediately and avoid approaching them directly.

Authorities Investigate Motive Behind the Incident

While investigators have not disclosed a confirmed motive, law enforcement sources told reporters that the incident may have been targeted rather than random.
Authorities are reviewing connections between the suspects and prior criminal cases involving vandalism and property damage across Clark County.

A joint task force that includes the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Bomb Squad, ATF, and FBI field offices is now involved in the case. Agents are examining whether the explosive materials used in the device match those found in other recent investigations in Nevada.

Community Response and Ongoing Investigation

The Las Vegas restaurant where the incident occurred has since reopened after being temporarily evacuated during the investigation.
Residents expressed concern about the growing number of violent and destructive acts in public spaces. “It’s scary knowing something like this could happen near places we visit every day,” one local witness told reporters.

LVMPD emphasized that no injuries were reported, thanks to the quick response of nearby staff and emergency crews. The department continues to urge caution as the two remaining suspects remain on the run.

Anyone with information about the suspects’ whereabouts is encouraged to call the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
