CHICAGO, Ill. — Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected across parts of Illinois and northwest Indiana Tuesday, with forecasters warning of gusty winds, hail, and dangerous lightning.

According to the National Weather Service Chicago, the greatest impacts are expected through 5 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, mainly south of the Chicago metro and into northwest Indiana.
Communities including Joliet, Aurora, Ottawa, Watseka, and Gary are highlighted in the advisory.
