California Dad Stabbed in Road Rage Attack Says His Children Saved His Life After “Demonic” Attacker Struck on Highway
SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — A California father is recovering from a brutal road rage stabbing that nearly took his life — and he says it’s only thanks to his two young children that he’s still alive.
Chris Davison, 38, was driving his 6-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son to a Halloween event on October 17 when the terrifying attack unfolded along California State Route 67.
According to KGTV San Diego, Davison said a black pickup truck began tailgating him, forcing him off the road twice and revving its engine aggressively before both drivers stopped on the side of the highway.
When Davison stepped out of his vehicle, the other driver — later identified by police as Noah Kane — allegedly approached with a “demonic stare” before launching a sudden knife attack.
“As I lifted my arm to block my head, he stabbed me multiple times,” Davison recalled. “It left my side open, and he continued to stab me.”
The attacker then fled the scene, leaving Davison bleeding heavily beside his car — and his two terrified children inside.
Children Spring Into Action to Save Their Father
Despite their shock, Davison’s children immediately began trying to help their wounded father. His 8-year-old son searched the car for anything to stop the bleeding, finding a phone charger cord to use as a makeshift tourniquet, while his 6-year-old daughter — dressed in her princess Halloween costume — leaned out the window and screamed for help.
“In a princess dress, hanging out the car, yelling for somebody to please stop,” Davison said, describing his daughter’s bravery.
His son also used sweaters from the car to apply pressure to his father’s wounds while trying to comfort him until help arrived.
A friend of Davison’s, who happened to be riding his motorcycle nearby, saw the aftermath and stopped to assist. The friend cleaned off Davison’s blood-covered phone and called 911.
27 Minutes to Paramedic Arrival
Paramedics reportedly arrived 27 minutes after the stabbing, by which time Davison had lost a significant amount of blood. Miraculously, doctors later determined that none of the stab wounds hit major organs, allowing him to survive.
“I’m forever grateful that I’m here to hug and kiss them and tuck them in every night,” Davison said, tearing up while talking about his children’s quick actions.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
Authorities arrested Noah Kane the following day. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that he has been charged with attempted murder and has pleaded not guilty.
Investigators have not released a motive for the attack, but Davison described the man’s behavior as “purely evil.”
Community Rallies Around Victim
Friends and community members have rallied around Davison’s family, creating a GoFundMe campaign to cover medical bills, lost income, and essential needs during his recovery. By Thursday, the fundraiser had collected nearly $4,000 of its $5,000 goal.
The father of two says he is focused on healing — both physically and emotionally — and cherishing every moment with the children who helped keep him alive.
“They saved my life,” he said. “They’re my little heroes.”
