Missouri Mom Finds Strange Object Inside Walmart Great Value Cheese Puffs Bag, Prompting Store Complaint and Community Concern
MISSOURI – A Missouri mother is raising concern after discovering a mysterious, snake-shaped object inside a bag of Walmart’s Great Value cheese puffs her children were eating. The incident, captured in a TikTok video that has now gained over one million views, has sparked debate about food safety, manufacturing errors, and Walmart’s response time.
The TikTok user, known as Jill (@jillmariem12), said her children had just returned from school and asked for a snack when one daughter noticed something unusual inside the freshly opened bag.
The Discovery: “I Think It’s a Snake”
Jill said she poured the cheese puffs onto the counter before realizing her daughter had spotted something long, curved, and heavily coated in cheese dust — but definitely not shaped like any snack puff she had seen before.
“This is what was in our bag of cheese puffs,” she explained in the video. “I think it’s a snake. What do you guys think?”
She captioned the clip with: “Great Value cheese puffs had what looks like parts of a snake in the bag!!!!!!!”
Although the object resembled a dried, curled animal part, viewers immediately began debating whether it was actually food, a machine malfunction, or something more concerning.
Jill Tries to Contact Walmart
In a follow-up video, Jill detailed her attempts to reach Walmart after the discovery.
She first called the store the night it happened, but by then the store had closed.
When she called the next morning, an employee told her she needed to visit in person to file a report. She arrived during her lunch break with photos and the bag’s lot number.
What happened next surprised her.
“They’ve known for a few hours,” she said. “Other employees knew about it last night. It’s been on Facebook.”
Even more concerning to her: the product was still sitting on the shelves, including bags from the exact same lot number.
She filed her report anyway, and her husband reached out to Walmart corporate. Jill also contacted the local health department, urging them to investigate.
Later that night, after her family returned from church, her husband checked again — and this time, all bags from that batch had been removed.
Another Family Found a Similar Object
Jill also revealed that a different family in her town bought the same product and found a similar object inside their bag.
Theirs, she said, was “not as thick,” but appeared to be the same type of material — leading them to joke, “Maybe this one is the rattler.”
Jill later uploaded videos breaking the mysterious piece apart. It crumbled easily, she said, but she still felt unsure of what it truly was.

What Could the Object Be?
So far, there is no confirmation from Walmart. BroBible reached out for comment, but the retailer has not yet responded.
Several viewers, however, believe the object is not an animal part.
One viewer wrote:
“If you zoom in, it looks like a manufacturing malfunction — just a puff that got deformed in the machine.”
Others agree the interior looks more like compressed corn material than flesh or bone.
Another viewer offered a more humorous guess:
“I think it’s a paycheck.”
Jill quickly shut that down, saying she isn’t looking for money — only answers.
“As long as my daughter who ate some puffs doesn’t get sick, I don’t need a lawsuit,” she said. “It just needs to be looked into.”
Other Walmart Food Complaints Surface
After Jill’s video circulated, several viewers shared their own experiences with unexpected Walmart food issues.
One commenter wrote:
“I got Great Value cheese-stuffed shells and there was a staple in one of them. Walmart sent me a $5 gift card.”
Jill continues to update her followers as she awaits responses from Walmart, corporate representatives, and local health officials.
