MADISON, WISCONSIN — Federal prosecutors have charged a Janesville man with transporting a minor from North Carolina to Wisconsin with the intent to engage in sexual activity.

Allegations Against Adam Gurney

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Wisconsin, Adam Gurney, 29, allegedly brought a minor between the ages of 16 and 18 from North Carolina to Wisconsin. Prosecutors say the purpose of the trip was to engage in sex.

If convicted, Gurney faces a sentence ranging from 10 years to life in prison.

The case was investigated by multiple agencies, including the Janesville Police Department, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina, and the Cherokee Police Department in North Carolina.
