Suspect Arrested in Metro Atlanta After Theft of Beyoncé’s Unreleased Music
HAPEVILLE, Ga. — A Georgia man has been arrested after investigators linked him to the theft of unreleased Beyoncé music and show materials from a vehicle in an Atlanta parking deck earlier this summer.
Theft Before Beyoncé’s Atlanta Tour Stop
The incident occurred on July 8 in the Krog Street parking deck, just two days before Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” tour stop in Atlanta.
Two individuals claiming to be part of Beyoncé’s team told police they returned to their black Jeep Wagoneer to find the back window smashed and two suitcases missing.
Stolen Items
According to police, the stolen property included:
- Jump drives containing unreleased music
- Tour footage plans and set lists (past and future)
- Two laptops
- Designer sunglasses
- Clothes
- Apple AirPods Max headphones
Investigation Leads to Arrest
Atlanta police tracked the missing items after receiving location pings from some of the stolen devices at addresses in Hapeville and on Hank Aaron Drive.
A crime analyst reviewed surveillance video and identified the vehicle used in the theft. During a traffic stop, the driver was arrested on unrelated marijuana charges. She later told detectives her uncle, Kelvin Evans, had used the vehicle and that she saw four black suitcases in the back afterward.
Further video analysis confirmed that Evans’ clothing matched that of the theft suspect seen on Krog Street.
Charges Filed
Evans was taken into custody and booked into Fulton County Jail. He faces charges of entering an automobile with intent to commit theft or felony.
