Georgia Man Killed, Another Injured in Randolph County Boat Crash

RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ala. — A Georgia man was killed and another seriously injured after two boats collided Thursday evening on Lake Wedowee in Randolph County.

Crash Details

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the collision occurred around 8 p.m. in the area where the Little River meets the Big River.

Dale M. Webb, 74, of Carrollton, Georgia, was operating a bass boat when it collided with another vessel. Webb was fatally injured in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene.

Passenger Airlifted

Webb’s passenger, Berlin A. Owens, 73, of Woodland, was seriously hurt in the crash. He was flown by helicopter to Wellstar Kennesaw Medical Center in Georgia for treatment.

Ongoing Investigation

The ALEA Marine Patrol Division is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Officials have not released details about the second boat or its occupants.
