CHICAGO, Ill. — Northern Illinois is set for several more days of dry, sunny conditions before rain and thunderstorm chances return over the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Chicago, skies will remain mostly clear through the week with highs ranging from the mid-70s to near 90 degrees. Lows will fall into the upper 50s and low 60s.

Winds off Lake Michigan will keep shoreline neighborhoods a few degrees cooler, while inland areas may see the warmest stretch of September so far.
