One Person Hospitalized After Saturday Night Shooting in Fort Valley
FORT VALLEY, Ga. — A Saturday night shooting in Fort Valley left one man hospitalized, prompting a joint investigation by local police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Shooting on Hinton Street
The Fort Valley Police Department reported that officers responded to the 500 block of Hinton Street just before 8 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found a man lying on the ground bleeding from a gunshot wound.
Officers immediately began performing CPR until EMS arrived. The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was transported to a Macon hospital for treatment.
Person of Interest Identified
According to Police Chief DJ Flores, investigators have identified a person of interest in the case. The investigation remains active as detectives continue gathering evidence with assistance from the GBI.
