Wanted Man Struck by Chicken Truck During Police Pursuit in Greenville
GREENVILLE, S.C. — A wanted man’s attempt to flee police on foot ended in unusual fashion Tuesday morning when he was struck by a chicken truck along a busy Greenville roadway.
Pursuit Along Mauldin Road
The Greenville Police Department said officers were attempting to arrest the suspect around 11:30 a.m. near Mauldin Road and Highway 291, close to the QuikTrip and Greenville Inn & Suites. The man fled on foot, running into the street where he was hit by an oncoming chicken transport truck.
Emergency Response
Authorities confirmed the suspect was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision. Police emphasized that the Greenville County Coroner was not called, indicating the man survived the incident.
Suspect’s Charges
According to investigators, the suspect was wanted for violation of probation and now faces an additional charge of interfering with police. His name has not yet been released publicly and will be disclosed once he is transferred to the detention center.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is handling the crash investigation, while Greenville police continue to oversee the criminal charges tied to the attempted arrest.
