GREENVILLE, S.C. — A disturbance call in Greenville County led deputies to uncover a marijuana grow operation and arrest two individuals on multiple charges, including drug manufacturing and child endangerment.

Disturbance Call Leads to Drug Discovery

According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 10 p.m. on Aug. 8 to a home on Old Georgia Road after reports of a possible disturbance involving firearms.

Once inside the residence, deputies found evidence of marijuana cultivation. Plants and related equipment were seized as part of the investigation.

Two Arrested on Drug and Child Endangerment Charges

Authorities arrested Tiffany Lynn Charping, 29, on a charge of manufacturing drugs. She was later released on a $10,000 bond.

Michael John Thomason, 45, was arrested on charges of manufacturing drugs and two counts of unlawful conduct toward a child. Thomason remains in custody at the Greenville County Detention Center under a $30,000 bond.

Child Safety Concerns Highlighted

While details about the children involved were not released, the unlawful conduct charges indicate concerns about their safety and welfare in the environment where the marijuana was being grown. Law enforcement has not specified if child protective services are now involved in the case.
