Florida Family’s Home Damaged After Neighbor Crashes Corvette Through Yard and Into House on Christmas Eve
FLORIDA — A Florida family experienced a terrifying Christmas Eve when a Corvette suddenly sped across their yard, smashed through their garden fence, collided with a boat, and struck the side of their home, according to newly released Ring camera footage. The crash occurred in Palmetto Bay, where the impact left significant property damage but, fortunately, caused no injuries.
Surveillance Footage Captures the Moment of Impact
Ring video provided to Storyful by Genavieve Paige Villar shows the red Corvette racing across the family’s lawn before barreling through the fence. The car continued moving until it hit a boat stored in the yard and crashed into the side wall of the home, as reported by WPLG Local 10.
The sudden impact sent debris flying, and the collision was strong enough that the family initially believed they had heard an explosion inside the home.
Mother Says Her Children Were Outside Moments Before the Crash
Paige Villar, the homeowner, told Storyful that the incident could have been tragic. Her children had been playing outside with chalk on the pavement shortly before the Corvette entered the yard.
“Luckily, we were all inside when we heard what sounded like an explosion,” she said. Villar stated that the driver was a neighbor and said she would not be pressing charges, noting that “no one was hurt” despite the frightening scene.

Police Issued Multiple Citations at the Scene
After responding to the property, police officers issued what Villar described as “many, many tickets” to the driver. Authorities have not yet released additional details about the cause of the crash or any potential driving violations beyond the citations.
Resident Calls for Speed Bumps After Second Incident in Six Months
Villar revealed that this was not the first dangerous incident on her street. Since her family moved in during June, this marks the second time a vehicle has caused serious property damage in the area.
“I have been requesting speed bumps for this street,” she said. “This is extremely frightening, and something needs to be done before a child or someone else is seriously injured.”
Community members in Palmetto Bay have expressed increased concern over speeding and safety issues on residential roads, especially with young children often playing outside.
