VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. — Authorities are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of an 82-year-old woman in Santa Rosa Valley on Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Officials said the woman was found lying on the roadway after being struck by an unknown vehicle. The driver fled the scene before emergency responders arrived.
Police Searching for the Hit-and-Run Driver
CHP officers are urging the suspect involved to come forward and cooperate with the investigation. “We urge the suspect to do the right thing and please come forward,” a CHP spokesperson said in a statement released Saturday morning.
