1 Injured in Shooting Outside Whiskey Run Bar on Dorchester Road, North Charleston Police Say
NORTH CHARLESTON, SC — A Sunday morning shooting near a popular North Charleston sports bar left one person injured, according to local police reports.
Gunfire Erupts Outside Whiskey Run Bar
Officers with the North Charleston Police Department responded around 4:30 a.m. to a report of a shooting in the parking lot of Whiskey Run Sports Bar & Grill on Dorchester Road. When officers arrived, they discovered spent shell casings, a pool of blood, a cellphone, and a pair of blue sandals near the scene.
Witnesses told officers they heard 10 to 12 gunshots just minutes before police arrived, according to an incident report obtained by WCIV.
Victim Later Located at Area Hospital
While investigating the scene, officers were notified that a gunshot victim had shown up at a local hospital. Through interviews with the individual, police confirmed the victim had been at Whiskey Run when the shooting occurred — and that the cellphone found at the scene belonged to him.
No arrests have been made public, and the victim’s condition was not immediately released.
