‘West Georgia Monster’: Search Warrants Reveal Disturbing Details in Serial S*xual Assault Case
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — Newly released search warrants are revealing shocking details about the investigation into Bobby Lee Hart Jr., a man accused of committing multiple s*xual assaults across several Georgia counties. Authorities say Hart, dubbed the “West Georgia Monster” by survivors, is linked by DNA evidence to assaults dating back to the 1990s.
DNA Links Suspect to Multiple S*xual Assaults
According to Douglas County District Attorney Dalia Racine, forensic DNA evidence connects Hart to at least four separate s*xual assaults, with cases spanning Douglas, Cobb, and other Georgia counties.
Survivors have come together in a private Facebook group titled “Survivors of the West Georgia Monster,” which has grown to nearly 400 members since his arrest.
Investigators Describe ‘Multi-Jurisdictional’ Case
Court documents reveal that Douglas County Sheriff’s Office investigators executed search warrants at two properties associated with Hart, along with multiple vehicles registered under his business, Hart 2 Hart Logistics. Authorities say many assaults occurred inside those vehicles while Hart was working.
Investigators confirmed that more than 20 vehicles were registered to Hart and that he admitted to recording “all of his s*xual encounters.”
Disturbing Evidence Recovered
The newly unsealed warrants describe a lengthy list of evidence seized from Hart’s properties and vehicles, including:
- Multiple phones and tablets
- Photographs of women
- Hair samples, hair ties, towels, and blankets
- Seat covers, CDs, and DVDs
- A handwritten note listing pants, shirt, and bra sizes
Officials said these items will undergo forensic analysis as part of the ongoing investigation.
Victims Report Being Trapped in Vehicles
The warrants also reveal chilling accounts from victims who told investigators they were unable to exit Hart’s vehicles during their assaults. An investigator noted that this could be due to child-lock mechanisms installed on the doors.
Authorities emphasized that the case remains multi-jurisdictional, with additional survivors and potential evidence still emerging.
Ongoing Investigation
Hart remains in custody as investigators from several Georgia counties continue to coordinate their efforts. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office described the case as one of the most extensive s*xual assault investigations in the county’s history.
