GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Weekend plans across the Red River Valley may be disrupted as rain and thunderstorms roll through Saturday, though forecasters say calmer conditions will return by Monday.

The National Weather Service in Grand Forks reports that scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue through Saturday afternoon, with lightning the main hazard. Drivers along Interstate 29 should prepare for reduced visibility and slick roads, though no severe storms are currently expected.

Clearing Skies by Sunday

Storm activity will taper off overnight, with patchy fog possible Sunday morning. By Sunday afternoon, skies are expected to clear, giving way to more stable conditions.
