Southern Illinois and Western Kentucky Weather: Storms Possible Monday as Cold Front Arrives
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY — Residents across southern Illinois, western Kentucky, southeast Missouri, and southwest Indiana will enjoy unseasonably warm weather this weekend before storm chances rise early next week with the arrival of a cold front.
Warm and Sunny Weekend
The National Weather Service in Paducah expects highs in the mid-80s to near 90 with lows in the upper 50s to low 60s through Sunday.
Saturday and Sunday are forecast to stay dry, offering ideal conditions for outdoor events and travel.
Storms Move In Monday
By Monday afternoon and evening, rain and thunderstorms are expected as the cold front sweeps across the region. Forecast models show 30–35% chances of precipitation across cities including Cape Girardeau, Evansville, Henderson, Owensboro, and Paducah.
The storm system is expected to continue into Tuesday, with highs dipping into the lower 80s.
Monitoring Severe Risk
While the NWS has not yet confirmed severe weather potential, forecasters warn the greatest risk for heavier downpours and thunder will be Monday evening into Tuesday morning.
Travelers should be prepared for wet roads and possible delays, especially during the Monday evening commute.
Midweek Outlook
After the front moves through, warm and sunny conditions are expected to briefly return by midweek, bringing a temporary break before more typical October weather settles in.
