SC Man Killed After Chase With Deputies Ends in Deadly Crash
BERKELEY COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA — A 22-year-old Huger man was killed early Saturday morning when a police chase ended in a deadly crash along Clements Ferry Road, according to state officials.
Chase Ends in Tragedy
The driver, identified as Andre Myers, was attempting to flee law enforcement around 12:45 a.m. when his 2005 Honda Accord veered off the road near Cainhoy Village Road. The car struck a utility pole before crashing into a tree.
Emergency responders rushed Myers to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:47 a.m.

Authorities have not released details on why Myers was being pursued. The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation into the chase, while the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office are working to determine what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and Myers was the sole occupant of the car. Officials have not confirmed whether he was wearing a seat belt.
