Michigan Man Charged with First-Degree Murder After Fatal Stabbing Was Live-Streamed on Facebook; Judge Sets $2 Million Bond
WARREN, MI — A Michigan man has been charged with first-degree premeditated murder after authorities say he fatally stabbed a man inside his home and live-streamed the attack on Facebook. The shocking case unfolded in Warren, where the suspect barricaded himself inside for hours before surrendering to police.
The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office identified the suspect as 30-year-old Dominick Robinson, who was arraigned on Monday, December 15, 2025, before Judge Steven Bieda at the 37th District Court.
Incident Live-Streamed Under Alias “Nicky Pop”
Prosecutors said portions of the violent incident were broadcast live on Facebook under the name “Nicky Pop.” Authorities described the case as involving “extensive planning and deliberate intent,” indicating a premeditated act.
Warren Police were called to Robinson’s residence on December 12, after reports of a possible death inside the home. When officers arrived, they discovered the victim stabbed multiple times. Prosecutors allege Robinson was responsible for the attack, which he partially streamed online.
Five-Hour Standoff Before Arrest
According to the Warren Police Department, Robinson refused to exit the residence, leading to a tense five-hour standoff. Officers from the department’s Special Response Team surrounded the home and attempted negotiations.
“The situation required patience and strategy,” a police spokesperson said. “After lengthy communication, Robinson ultimately surrendered without further violence.”
Authorities said the standoff concluded peacefully after crisis negotiators convinced Robinson to give himself up.
Judge Orders $2 Million Cash Bond and Mental Evaluation
At his arraignment, Judge Bieda set Robinson’s bond at $2 million cash only, with no 10% option. Robinson was also ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation due to the nature of the crime and the circumstances of the Facebook live-stream.
If released, the court ruled that Robinson must wear a steel-cuff tether for monitoring. However, prosecutors made clear that they intend to pursue life imprisonment without parole if convicted.
“This was a cold, calculated act of violence,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido. “The use of social media to broadcast such brutality only deepens the community’s shock and underscores the disturbing trend of violence being shared online.”
Charges and Possible Sentence
Robinson faces one count of First-Degree Premeditated Murder, a felony punishable by life in prison without parole under Michigan law. The identity of the victim has not yet been released, pending family notification.
Authorities are still reviewing the Facebook footage as part of the investigation and have not released details about the motive behind the attack.
The case has drawn widespread attention both locally and online, with officials warning against the spread of violent content on social media platforms.
