Lansing Police Seek Public’s Help in Vehicle Theft, Property Damage, and Evidence Tampering Cases

LANSING, MI – Authorities are turning to the public for help in solving three separate cases involving a stolen vehicle, property damage in Old Town, and a wanted fugitive out of Jackson, according to WLNS 6 News .

Vehicle Theft on N Grand River Avenue

The Lansing Police Department is seeking tips about a suspect who stole a vehicle from the 5100 block of N Grand River Avenue on August 15, 2025. Officials are urging anyone who may have witnessed the theft or noticed suspicious activity in the area to come forward .

Old Town Property Damage

Investigators are also asking for help identifying a suspect responsible for spray painting buildings and damaging a vehicle on the 300 block of E Cesar E. Chavez Avenue during the early morning hours of July 30, 2025 .

A Lansing officer said,

“These acts of vandalism not only cause financial strain on property owners but also impact the sense of safety in our community.”

Fugitive Wanted on Felony Warrant

Police are additionally searching for 26-year-old Ricky Darnell Patterson, who is wanted in Jackson on multiple felony charges, including evidence tampering, carrying a concealed weapon, and felony firearm. Patterson is described as 5’9”, 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes .

Crime Stoppers Offering Rewards

Crime Stoppers of Mid-Michigan is offering rewards of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in any of these cases. Tipsters can remain anonymous by calling (517) 483-STOP.
