Georgia Man Arrested for Stabbing His Brother at Royston Motel

ROYSTON, Ga. – A Georgia man is in custody after authorities say he stabbed his brother during a confrontation at a Days Inn motel in Royston on Wednesday night.

According to the Royston Police Department, officers responded to the motel on Hartwell Street where they found Travis John Hill with a laceration on his arm. Hill told officers he had been stabbed by his brother, Christopher Lee Hill, who fled the scene on foot into nearby woods.

Search and Arrest

Royston police, assisted by Hart County and Franklin County sheriff’s deputies, launched a search of the area. Royston Firefighter Brady Roberts deployed a heat-detecting drone, which helped locate the suspect.

After a short search, Christopher Lee Hill was arrested without further incident and booked into the Hart County Detention Center.

Charges Filed

Hill now faces the following charges:

  • Aggravated assault – domestic violence
  • Possession of a knife during the commission of a crime
  • Obstruction of justice
