Florida Woman Missing After Sending Mother Final Message on Cross-Country Trip

FLORIDA — Authorities are searching for a 38-year-old Florida woman who vanished during a cross-country road trip after sending her mother a haunting final message.

Final Message Before Disappearance

Ganna Kovrizhynkh, also known as Angel Volnaya, last contacted her family on July 5 while driving through San Diego County. She sent her mother a photo of a letter along with GPS coordinates for a rural location in Potrero, instructing that her belongings be left to her mother.

Car and Trailer Found Abandoned

A week later, on July 12, her Jeep Grand Cherokee and camper trailer were found abandoned along Potrero Park Drive. Investigators believe she may have been touring the country with no fixed destination.

Detectives with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office have not ruled out foul play, but they also say she may have crossed the U.S.–Mexico border into Tecate, Baja California.

Search Efforts and Description

Kovrizhynkh is described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall, 100 pounds, with blonde hair, blue eyes, and multiple tattoos on her arms and hands. Authorities said she might also be wearing a wig.

Photos released by the sheriff’s office and the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) are being used to encourage tips from the public.

Family Pleas for Help

Sgt. Jacob Klepach told NBC San Diego, “We believe she was just kind of touring the country and she left her vehicle in Potrero and never came back.”

Her mother and loved ones are pleading for answers, hoping the unusual message she sent before disappearing will help narrow down the search.

Anyone with information on Ganna Kovrizhynkh’s whereabouts is urged to call the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office at (858) 868-3200 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
