Florida River Ridge High School Employee Arrested for Alleged Romantic Relationship With Student
NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — A 24-year-old employee at River Ridge High School in Pasco County has been arrested after authorities say she engaged in a romantic relationship with a student.
The Pasco Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Jordan Simon was taken into custody on November 20 and charged with Offenses Against a Student by an Authority Figure, a felony under Florida law.
Investigation Details
According to investigators, the Sheriff’s Office launched an inquiry after receiving a tip regarding inappropriate conduct involving Simon and a student at River Ridge High School.
Detectives allege that Simon had been involved in a romantic relationship with the student while employed at the school.
Officials said the incident appears to be isolated, and there are currently no reports of additional victims. The investigation remains active as detectives continue reviewing evidence and interviewing witnesses.
“At this point, no other victims have come forward, and the case is still ongoing,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a brief statement.
School Response
Sources close to the investigation said that Simon worked as a stage manager for River Ridge High School’s Royal Knight Stage Company, the school’s theater program.
The Pasco County School District has not yet released a formal statement regarding Simon’s arrest but confirmed that she is no longer employed at the school.
Administrators say counseling resources will be made available to students affected by the situation as the district works closely with law enforcement.
Legal Status and Next Steps
Simon was booked into the Pasco County Jail following her arrest. As of this week, she faces felony charges under Florida statutes designed to protect students from authority figures in educational settings.
Authorities have not released additional details about the student or the length and nature of the relationship, citing the ongoing investigation.
“This is an active case,” officials added, “and more information will be released as it becomes available.”
