Early Morning Lawrenceville House Fire Sends Three to Hospital

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — Three people were hospitalized, including one in critical condition, after a house fire erupted early Sunday morning inside a two-story home on Overlook Path Way.

The blaze was reported at 3:45 a.m., and when Gwinnett County police arrived, heavy fire was pouring from the garage area. Officers encountered one victim who had jumped from a second-story window and heard screams from another trapped inside.

Dramatic Rescue by Firefighters

According to Gwinnett Fire and Emergency Services, firefighters deployed a 24-foot extension ladder to reach a second-story window. Crews entered the burning home through the window, located a victim, and carried them back out to awaiting medics.

Meanwhile, two other individuals managed to escape the fire on their own, though they required medical treatment on scene.

Battling the Flames

Firefighters used two hose lines to bring the flames under control by 4:12 a.m. Crews also conducted a full search of the home to ensure no other victims remained inside.

In total, three people were taken to local hospitals — one in critical condition and two with non-life-threatening injuries.

Families Displaced, Cause Under Investigation

Five residents were displaced by the fire and are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross. Officials have not yet released the names of the injured victims.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
