Boone Woman Arrested After Hit-and-Run Crash Injures Motorcyclist
BOONE, N.C. — A 41-year-old woman from Banner Elk has been arrested after a hit-and-run crash in Boone left a motorcyclist injured Tuesday evening.
The collision happened around 6 p.m. at the intersection of Shadowline Drive and Blowing Rock Road, according to Boone Police. Witnesses said a Toyota pickup truck struck a motorcycle and fled the scene.
Arrest and Charges
Responding officers quickly located the suspect in a nearby parking lot. Police identified her as Susan Stelling of Banner Elk, who was taken into custody without incident.
Stelling now faces several charges, including:
- Felony hit-and-run
- Failure to report a collision
- Failure to yield right of way
- Possession of an open container of alcohol
- Littering
She was booked into the Watauga County Detention Center under a $10,000 bond.
