Body Found in Pickens County Pond; Sheriff’s Office Investigating

PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities have launched an investigation after a man’s body was discovered in a pond in Easley, South Carolina, on Monday afternoon.

Deputies from the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office said they responded just before 2 p.m. to a 911 call in the 400 block of Crest Drive, where human remains were reported near the pond. Emergency medical services also arrived at the scene.

Victim Identified by Coroner’s Office

The Pickens County Coroner’s Office confirmed that the body recovered was that of Roger Dale Moorehead of Easley. Deputies stated the body was found in the same area where the 911 call originated.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death. Officials have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the discovery.

Investigation Remains Active
