Armed Standoff in Roswell: Police Respond to Barricaded Person at Seven Pines Apartments

ROSWELL, GEORGIA — Police in Roswell are responding to an ongoing situation involving a barricaded person armed with a gun inside a local apartment complex, according to the Roswell Police Department.

Standoff Reported at Seven Pines Apartment Homes

Officers were dispatched to the Seven Pines Apartment Homes located at 200 Tree Ridge Parkway on Friday morning after reports that an individual had barricaded themselves inside a unit with a firearm.

Authorities quickly established a perimeter around the complex as crisis negotiators and tactical units arrived on the scene. Police confirmed that the situation remains active as they work to safely resolve the standoff.

“Someone is barricaded with a gun inside the Seven Pines Apartment Homes,” officials said in an emailed statement to local media.

Unknown What Triggered the Standoff

It remains unclear what led to the incident or how officers were initially alerted to the barricaded individual. As of early Saturday, police have not released information regarding possible injuries or whether any other residents were involved.

Witnesses say officers have been seen taking positions around the building and using loudspeakers to communicate with the suspect inside.

“You can hear them talking through a megaphone, telling the person to come out with their hands up,” one resident said. “It’s scary knowing this is happening so close to home.”

Police Ask Public to Avoid the Area

Authorities have urged residents to avoid the area while the standoff continues. Nearby roads have been blocked off as a precaution, and residents within the complex have been asked to stay indoors.

Roswell police have not confirmed if SWAT or additional agencies have been deployed but said all necessary resources are on standby.

Developing Situation

As of the latest update, no shots have been reported fired, and negotiators remain in contact with the individual inside the apartment. Officials said more details will be released once the situation has been safely resolved.
