Armed Carjacking Suspect Captured After Multi-Agency Search in Reidsville
REIDSVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA – A 26-year-old man wanted for an armed carjacking and multiple outstanding warrants has been taken into custody after an hours-long search in Reidsville, authorities confirmed Thursday.
Carjacking in Danville
According to deputies, Ni Majae Logan was wanted in connection to a Thursday morning armed carjacking in Danville, Virginia. Investigators said he pepper-sprayed a woman and stole her car before driving south into North Carolina.
Search Near Walmart in Reidsville
Authorities later spotted Logan near the Walmart on North Scales Street in Reidsville. When a deputy approached the vehicle, Logan jumped out and ran into a nearby wooded area, sparking an extensive search effort.
Multi-Agency Response
The manhunt involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including the North Carolina Highway Patrol, which deployed a helicopter, as well as ground-based K9 units. After hours of searching, Logan was captured and taken into custody without further incident.
Facing Multiple Warrants
In addition to the Danville carjacking, deputies confirmed that Logan was also wanted on seven other outstanding warrants. Authorities have not yet released details on the additional charges but said he will be held pending extradition and further court proceedings.
