Chicago Father and Son Killed in Jewelry Store Robbery in Little Village; Police Search for Gunman

CHICAGO — A father and son were shot and killed during an armed robbery at their jewelry store in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood on Saturday evening, marking one of the city’s most heartbreaking acts of violence in recent weeks.

According to the Chicago Police Department, officers responded around 5:49 p.m. on November 8, 2025, to the 3800 block of West 26th Street, where both victims — ages 63 and 25 — were found fatally wounded outside their shop.

Robbery Turned Deadly in Broad Daylight

Surveillance footage reviewed by police shows the suspect entering the store wearing a Blackhawks hoodie and face mask, appearing to steal merchandise before fleeing the scene. Moments later, the suspect got into a confrontation with the two men outside the shop — a fight that quickly turned fatal when the gunman opened fire.

Witnesses reported the shooting occurred in broad daylight, with cars passing by as chaos unfolded. The father and son were later pronounced dead at the scene.

Crime Stoppers Calls It “A Senseless Act of Violence”

In a public statement, Cook County Crime Stoppers Executive Director Paul Rutherford condemned the killings, calling the case “a senseless act of violence” that has left a community shaken.

“Two hardworking individuals lost their lives,” Rutherford said. “We’re asking anyone who knows something to do the right thing. Even the smallest detail could be the key to solving this case.”

Community in Mourning

Residents in Little Village described the victims as respected business owners who had run their family jewelry store for years, serving neighbors and customers with care. Many community members have since gathered outside the shop, lighting candles and leaving flowers in remembrance.

As investigators continue to review surveillance footage and gather leads, police are emphasizing the importance of public cooperation to catch the suspect responsible.
