What started as a simple pizza night quickly turned into a startling encounter when a family discovered a highly venomous red-bellied black snake inside their delivery box.

Pizza Night Takes a Dangerous Turn

According to Snake Catcher Dan, a professional removal service on Australia’s Sunshine Coast, the family had finished eating their pizza and left the empty box in their home when the reptile slithered in from outside. One of the family members spotted the snake slipping into the box and immediately called for help.

Snake catcher Daniel Busstra responded to the call and safely removed the reptile. He explained that while red-bellied black snakes are generally shy, their venom makes them dangerous. “You definitely don’t want them in the house,” Busstra said.

Busstra filmed the removal, showing the snake coiled tightly inside the pizza box. Describing the reptile as “good-looking” and “beautiful,” he carefully hooked the animal with a pole before lifting it out with his bare hands.

“Definitely not the biggest snake, but it sure is healthy,” he commented during the capture, before placing the snake into a secure bag for relocation away from the family’s home.
