Michigan School Crossing Guard Arrested for Sexual Conduct With 13-Year-Old Girl
MONROE, MICHIGAN – A school crossing guard in Monroe is facing serious charges after police say he engaged in criminal sexual conduct with a 13-year-old girl.
Report to Police
According to the Monroe Public Safety Department, authorities received a report that an “older-looking male subject was possibly engaging in intimate contact with a younger female inside a vehicle.”
When detectives arrived at the scene, they made contact with a 13-year-old girl and a 23-year-old man.
Suspect Identified and Arrested
The man was identified as Timothy Alan Warthen II. Police say he was arrested and admitted to raping the 13-year-old girl, describing her as someone he was “dating.”
During questioning, Warthen also told officers that he was employed as a crossing guard for Ida Public Schools.
School District Response
Detectives immediately notified the Ida Public Schools district, which confirmed Warthen was fired from his position.
Officials stated that there is no evidence at this time indicating Warthen engaged in inappropriate conduct or communication with any other minors.
Charges Filed
Warthen has since been formally charged with criminal sexual conduct, police confirmed. The case remains under active investigation.
