Deputies Respond to Unusual Wildlife Call
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said two deputies on patrol were dispatched to what they described as an “unusual call” — a wildlife assist involving a deer tangled in a gardening cage.
When they arrived, they found the animal struggling with the wire frame caught tightly around its head.
Body Camera Captures the Rescue
Body camera video released by the sheriff’s office shows deputies chasing the deer before carefully disentangling the cage. Despite the struggle, the deer was safely freed.
Officials confirmed that the deer was not injured and was quickly released back into the wild after the rescue.
Safe Ending for the Garden Intruder
The incident ended on a positive note, with deputies noting the deer was able to run off on its own once the cage was removed. The sheriff’s office later shared the rescue video on social media, where it has drawn widespread attention.
