Brainerd Baptist Church Becomes Lifeline for North Georgia Families After Floods
NORTH GEORGIA – Families in North Georgia are getting much-needed relief after devastating flooding left many without homes or belongings. Brainerd Baptist Church’s North Georgia campus has become a vital resource hub, helping the community recover one truckload at a time.
Church Steps Up Amid Widespread Flood Damage
The flooding, which recently swept through parts of North Georgia, caused extensive property damage and displaced several families. In response, volunteers from Brainerd Baptist Church have stepped in, transforming their campus into a distribution center for emergency supplies.
Volunteers spent the day unloading donation-filled trucks, organizing cleaning supplies, bottled water, and clothing to assist flood survivors.
“It’s just an absolute terrible situation that’s going on,” said Robby, a church volunteer. “Our church has always been mission-minded, and we want to help out our community as much as possible here in the North Georgia area. There’s been so much devastation and so many families lost — we want them to feel the love of Christ through these items that are needed here.”
Donation Efforts Continue Through the Weekend
Church leaders emphasized that the work isn’t over. Brainerd Baptist has announced it will continue accepting donations through Sunday, aiming to reach as many families as possible in the aftermath of the storm.
The supplies being gathered are specifically aimed at basic recovery needs, helping families clean up flood-damaged homes, replace soaked clothing, and get access to safe drinking water.
The church’s work was recently highlighted by WDEF, showing the scale and heart behind the operation.
A Community Effort Rooted in Faith
This isn’t the first time Brainerd Baptist Church has led relief efforts. Known for its community-first mission, the church has long supported initiatives both locally and beyond. Their North Georgia response is a continuation of that legacy.
“We want these families to know they’re not alone,” Robby added. “We’re here to walk with them through this difficult time.”
