18-Year-Old Killed in Myrtle Beach Restaurant Shooting Identified by Coroner
MYRTLE BEACH, SC — Authorities have identified the victim killed in a restaurant shooting on Ocean Boulevard late Friday night as 18-year-old Grayson Meyers of Myrtle Beach, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office.
The shooting took place around 11:15 p.m. at Peaches Corner, a popular eatery located at 900 N. Ocean Boulevard, following an altercation between an employee and another individual.
Suspect Arrested, Will Be Tried as an Adult
Police confirmed that Evony McCray, 17, of Conway, has been arrested in connection with the shooting. McCray faces the following charges:

Assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature

Possession of a weapon during a violent crime

Possession of a weapon by a juvenile
According to the Myrtle Beach Police Department, McCray will be tried as an adult.
One Injured, One Dead
The shooting left two people injured. One victim was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while Meyers succumbed to his wounds at the scene, confirmed by Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.
Authorities have not yet released further information about the motive or how the confrontation escalated.
Ongoing Investigation
Police continue to investigate the exact circumstances that led to the deadly encounter. The restaurant was temporarily closed while detectives processed the scene.
