San Diego Man Claims He Filmed UFO Emerging From Water at Pier

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — A late-night walk along a San Diego pier turned into what one man described as a surreal experience after he claimed to witness glowing objects flying out of the ocean and disappearing into the night sky.

TikTok Video Captures Bizarre Sighting

The video, posted by TikTok user @melitonns, was filmed near Seaport Village and has since gained traction online. In the clip, a small glowing light moves erratically across the sky before vanishing from view.

“Oh, I saw that, yo,” a friend can be heard saying in the video, reacting in real time.

In her caption, Meli described seeing far more than the camera recorded:

“I saw a flock of UFOs, maybe like 15 to 20 of them flying. I thought they were birds at first, but when I looked better, they were glowing orbs. They appeared for a couple seconds then disappeared,” she wrote.

San Diego’s History of UFO Reports

San Diego has long been a hotspot for unexplained aerial phenomena, in part due to its vast coastline and nearby military installations. Navy pilots have historically reported more sightings than Air Force counterparts, many occurring over the ocean where objects were seen diving into or emerging from the water.

One of the most famous incidents occurred in 2004 off the San Diego coast, when Navy pilots reported a 40-foot-long craft with no visible wings or exhaust that outran F-18s — an encounter later investigated by the Pentagon’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program.

UFOs, UAPs, and Government Investigations

For decades, the U.S. government has studied what are now called Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs). From the Air Force’s Project Blue Book in the mid-20th century to the Pentagon’s modern task forces, thousands of reports have been logged. A 2021 intelligence review left 171 sightings unexplained, fueling ongoing speculation.

In 2023, a whistleblower even alleged that the U.S. had recovered a craft of “non-human” origin, though no official confirmation has ever been provided.

Public Fascination Continues

Despite investigations, experts say there is still no conclusive evidence of alien life. Still, sightings like the recent San Diego pier video continue to ignite debate and fascination, keeping UFO culture alive in California and beyond.
