Person of Interest in Anderson County Bank Robbery Taken Into Custody

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. — Deputies say a person of interest has been taken into custody following a bank robbery at Dogwood State Bank in Anderson County Tuesday afternoon.

Robbery Reported at Dogwood State Bank

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office reported the robbery happened around 1:15 p.m. at the bank’s branch on Clemson Boulevard. Investigators said a man entered the bank and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Suspect Located on Clemson Boulevard

Roughly 90 minutes later, around 2:45 p.m., deputies announced that a person of interest had been located on Clemson Boulevard and taken into custody for questioning. Authorities said the man would be interviewed as part of the investigation into the robbery.

Investigation Ongoing

Officials have not released the suspect’s name or any charges at this time. The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the case while working to determine whether the person in custody is directly responsible for the crime.

Bank robberies are rare but carry heavy penalties in South Carolina. Federal and state investigators typically become involved if weapons are used or if stolen cash crosses county lines.
