Motorcyclist Killed in I-40 Crash Near West Gate City Boulevard in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A motorcyclist was killed Friday night following a crash on Interstate 40 East near West Gate City Boulevard, according to the Greensboro Police Department.

Police Say Other Vehicle Fled the Scene

The crash occurred just before 11 p.m., when a motorcycle traveling east on I-40 collided with a car. The rider was fatally injured, and despite emergency response from Greensboro Police, Greensboro Fire, and Guilford County EMS, the motorcyclist did not survive.

Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity, pending notification of next of kin.

The other vehicle involved did not stay at the scene. Investigators described it as a dark green or black sedan, possibly with a scrape or scuff mark on the left rear wheel or fender. The make and model remain unknown.

Investigation Ongoing

Police confirmed that the case remains under investigation. They are urging anyone with information about the car or the driver to come forward as they continue to piece together what happened along the busy Greensboro stretch of I-40.
